Challenge
Producing large volumes of abstracts consistently is inherently complex. Each abstract requires precise structuring, correct attribution, adherence to house rules, and clean, publication-ready outputs—including JATS XML, peripheral files such as images and supplementary materials, and final PDFs. Manual formatting and validation increase the risk of inconsistency, rework, and delays—especially when operating at the scale of multiple supplements each year.
Turning Point
The publisher adopted the Kriyadocs production platform to support an automation-led abstracts workflow. Content was prepared and ingested into the platform, where automated checks handled structural tagging, application of house rules, and validation.
The platform’s production capabilities—covering tagging, automated validation, formatting enforcement, and typesetting—were augmented by expert review to ensure accuracy and consistency. Final outputs were delivered in publication-ready PDF format as well as JATS XML for online publication, combining automation efficiency with human quality control and supporting embargo management where compatible with the hosting platform.
